Helping young people heal, adapt, and flourish

What We Do

At Cria Care, we recognise that the needs of young people in residential care are individual, diverse, and ever-changing. Many of the children we support have experienced trauma, disrupted attachments, and difficult life events that impact their development and wellbeing.

We provide safe, effective, trauma-informed residential care for young people in need of residential care.

Our role is to empower young people in our mainstream children’s services to integrate, develop and flourish within their community.

Child-centred & Trauma-informed

We believe every young person deserves a voice in their journey. Our approach is grounded in trauma-informed care: creating emotionally, physically and psychologically safe environments where healing begins.

Small-scale, Individualised Support

Our homes are family-sized and warmly homely. Being in a smaller setting allows us to build strong, trusting relationships and respond to each child’s individual needs, strengths, and hopes.

Local Community Integration

We work in partnership with schools, health & social care professionals, families, and community organisations. This ensures children are not isolated but connected to local supports, activities, and opportunities.

“With compassion and guidance, we help children heal, grow, and believe in brighter futures.”

Community living while maintaining personalised care for each young person…

We empower young people to build essential life skills, experience meaningful connections, and prepare them for the challenges faced by teenagers and young adults.

Temporary, shared living environments for individuals

who require support, care, and life-skills development.

Our medium-term multi-occupancy residential services provide temporary, shared living environments for individuals (often young people or adults with complex needs) who require support, care, and life-skills development in a community-based setting. These services involve a 24-hour staff presence,

personalised care plans, and structured support to foster independence and prepare residents for their future. Our services are community-based where our residents live in communities, resembling ordinary homes to integrate our young people into their surroundings. The young people in our mainstream services are aged 13 to 17 years old on admission
